FIND A CAREER
Need A Job? Find A Career And Do Something You Love Doing!
Unless you are independently wealthy, you will have to work in life and create a means for your survival. There are two ways to do this: with a job, or with a career.
A job is something you go and do for a set number of hours every day, usually watching the clock and praying for the minute hand to move a little faster, just once. When the work is over you race out of there towards your “real life,” trying to block all thoughts of your job until you are forced to return the following day.
A career, however, is something that permeates your life. You wake up and can’t wait to get started on the day’s projects, and may even forget to eat because you are so engrossed in them. You often lose track of time while working and find yourself thinking of new ideas even when you are on vacation or trying to sleep.
Jobs and careers are both forms of work. They both pay the bills. But they are miles and miles apart when it comes to their effect on your life.
Obviously most people would rather have a career, but sometimes it can be hard to know what will get your motor going. People stumble around in dead-end jobs because they don’t know what they would like to do otherwise.
Well, figure it out. One of the secrets to happiness is this: Figure out what you love to do, and find a way to do it every day. What do you love to do?
Maybe you think your passion will not translate into money, but you are wrong. Right now there are hundreds of people making a living shopping, baking cakes, playing video games or traveling the world.
Right now, someone has your dream job. Why not you?
Careers take far more dedication than jobs. Although they are also much more fulfilling, they take more time and effort, although you won’t feel it as much, because you will be passionate about the way you spend your day. You get one life on this earth, so you might as well go for your dreams, right? It’s either that or sit on the couch and get fat, which seems like an easy choice.
HOW TO FIND YOUR CAREER
How to find your career? Ask yourself these questions:
Think over these questions thoroughly. Often we are so busy that our brains never get any “breathing room” for creative ruminations. Give yourself a chance to daydream, and dare to imagine your best life possible. Then make it happen; the only thing standing in your way is you. Decide whether you want a career or are satisfied with a job, and start moving towards your career in small steps. Above all believe in yourself, work hard, and you will make waves towards the career of your dreams.
